From self-taught illustration
to helping 300+ creators
Before 2019, I was simply someone who loved to draw and hoped to make a living from illustration. I tried many platforms and took many courses, but studying alone always felt like something was missing — someone who understood which stage you're at.
In 2020 I began teaching online. Sharing commissions in different styles with fellow artists, I realized that drawing well doesn't automatically mean landing client work — and while helping match artists with projects, I kept seeing how much effective communication was missing. So I started sharing my learning process on YouTube and in Procreate communities, and it struck a chord far beyond what I expected. What people needed wasn't just tutorials — it was someone to walk alongside them. That's how WeiChen Studio was born.
